ABOUT KELLEY

I’m a certified coach with 25+ years experience leading communications teams and advising executives and elected officials. 

I thrive when working with high-impact leaders by asking the right strategic questions, providing direct 'clear is kind' feedback, and eliminating complexity to focus on priorities.

Getting to the heart of the story:

As Press Secretary to Senator John Kerry and Deputy Communications Director on his presidential campaign, I created message discipline in daily policy work and campaign communications.

Intentional leadership:

I created clear and simple messaging platforms and supported 5 different CEO transitions at leading companies like Levi Strauss & Co. and Yahoo! in senior communications roles.

Asking the right strategic questions:

I led the first new brand for the Port of Portland in 17 years and developed the communications strategy for the most ambitious public works project in Oregon’s history – the new PDX airport.

I offer coaching to clients who are looking to define their leadership, build thriving teams, and make work less stressful.

During my communications career, I discovered a passion for working 1:1 with leaders to identify their superpowers and build skills to tackle things getting in their way.

I am now a certified Coach. I completed my coach training and Integral Coach certification with New Ventures West, one of the oldest coaching schools in the profession. 

Three More Things About Me

I live with my husband and two daughters in Portland, Oregon. We love to travel around the world, experiencing local art, food, and culture.

I enjoy life's simple pleasures—visiting farmers’ markets, practicing yoga, hiking in the trees, skiing greens and blues, reading memoirs, and cheering on the world’s best women soccer players in 'Soccer City,’ USA.

Coffee is my love language. I enjoy savoring a perfect cup of black coffee every morning. I believe local coffee shops are places where we still chat with strangers and connect with our neighbors.
